This page gets you from signing in to finishing your first assignment. It takes about ten minutes.
Join your class#
- Sign in at trace.school.
- On Home, press Join a class.
- Type the code your teacher gave you and press Join class.
If your teacher invited you by email, you are already in. Just sign in with the email address the invitation went to.
If you are under 13, you have to sign up with a class code. On the sign-up page choose "Student joining a classroom" and type the code there.
Find your work#
Home shows Due soon, the list of work your teachers assigned, with due dates. Press an item to open it.
Each assignment is a reading, a lab, a quiz, a unit test, a worksheet, or a project. A reading ends with Mark complete. A quiz checks each answer as you go with Check answer and Next. A lab is something you change and watch, and it asks you to write down what you noticed before you save.
Progress in the sidebar shows what you have finished and what is left in each class. It only counts what is done. Trace does not give scores or grades. Your teacher decides those.
Use the tutor#
AI Tutor in the sidebar is a chat that helps you with the lesson you are on. Ask it to explain a term, give another example, or check your reasoning. It will not do your assignment for you, and it will not help with unrelated schoolwork. Your teacher can read these conversations.
Build an agent#
Agent Builder in the sidebar is where you snap blocks together into an AI agent and run it. The tutorial "Build your first agent" walks you through it. Running an agent uses credits from your class, so you never buy anything. If a run says you are out of credits, tell your teacher.
Coins#
You earn coins by finishing lessons and quizzes. Spend them in the Shop on things for your buddy. Coins are separate from credits.
Get help#
Press Help in the sidebar, or the round button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Read a guide, or press Send a message to write to the Trace team. Say what you were doing and what happened. We reply in that same panel and by email.
